SUMMARY
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a qualified Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT) to provide comprehensive imaging services to veterans at the White River Junction VA Medical Center. This role involves performing a full range of diagnostic radiology procedures, ensuring compliance with VA standards, and delivering high-quality patient care in a state-of-the-art medical environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in diagnostic radiology, including advanced applications
- Proficiency in operating imaging equipment and electronic health record systems
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross); completion of VA mandatory training prior to start
- Must pass VA background investigation and credentialing process
- Proof of immunizations (TB, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza) and compliance with OSHA standards
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently; strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology
THE DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including fluoroscopic and general exams, portable radiography, and operating room imaging
- Prepare and administer contrast materials under radiologist supervision for specialized exams
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring optimal utilization and adherence to radiation safety protocols
- Accurately interpret and process radiology requests, maintain patient records in CPRS/VistA systems, and ensure proper documentation
- Apply infection control and safety practices for patients and staff
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic services
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, VA privacy standards, and all applicable federal regulations
