Central Processing Department Manager
Shift: 8hr days (M-F)
Will Float to Both Cambridge and Everett Hospital
Willing to accept locals - less $ for locals

Under the direction of Director of Perioperative Services, manages the overall Operative Services and Central Processing Department budgets (Capital and operating) across three campuses.
Manages the surgical case cart system to include, physician preference cards, charging of surgical supplies and equipment loaner process across three campuses.
Works closely with the Purchasing Department to assure cost effective and timely ordering of supplies, equipment and services across three campuses.

Qualification/Requirements

Education/Experience:
Minimum of ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination or education and experience. Central Service Technician certification required within one year of employment.

Certifications: Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician

Job-Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Acts as a custodian of the Central Processing and Operative Services inventory (Surgical both purchased and cosigned) which consists of re-usable, disposable and patient charge supplies.
2. Establishes items to be kept in Central Processing inventory according to hospital administrative policies, Operative Services and Materials Management Department policies.
3. Communicates with OR Managers on any issue associated with supplies that impact the surgical schedules.
4. Collaborates with Operative Services and other user departments and Purchasing Department to order and maintain appropriate supplies, instrumentation and equipment.
5. Meets periodically with Nurse Managers or designees, Service Chiefs and physicians to asses overall needs.
6. Working with the Purchasing Department compiles statistical and historical data, and prepares reports on the status of inventory and supplies consumed.
7. Develops and maintains surgical case cart system.
8. Develops and maintains surgeon preference cards and updates as necessary.
9. Develops and maintains instrument kit listings and updates as necessary.
10. Develops and maintains back-up inventory and replaces missing instruments in kits for Operative Services.
