Job Title: Technical Environment Manager – OCIO Investment Technology

Assignment Length: 6 Months

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled, organized, and proactive Technical Environment Manager to lead the management and coordination of multiple complex technical environments supporting a large-scale investment management technology transformation within an OCIO framework.

This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of stable, scalable, secure, and compliant environments that support the design, development, testing, and deployment of strategic investment management applications. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, deep knowledge of investment management systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively across business, technology, and vendor teams.


Key Responsibilities

Environment Oversight & Management

  • Lead the management of multiple technical environments, including development, integration, testing, staging, production, and disaster recovery
  • Ensure environments are stable, scalable, secure, and compliant with regulatory and internal standards
  • Manage multiple technology stacks and platforms to ensure interoperability, data integrity, and high availability
  • Support strategic planning for environment delivery aligned with project timelines, business priorities, and risk objectives

Technology Infrastructure & Platform Coordination

  • Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and third-party teams to design and maintain infrastructure supporting investment data ingestion, analytics, trading, and portfolio management
  • Oversee deployment, configuration, and integration of investment management platforms, including proprietary and third-party solutions (e.g., State Street Alpha, FactSet, Jacobi)
  • Develop monitoring and support capabilities to proactively manage environment health, capacity, and security

Vendor & Service Provider Management

  • Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure SLA adherence and performance expectations
  • Coordinate vendor-led upgrades, patches, and escalations to minimize business disruption
  • Support contract discussions, risk assessments, and vendor performance reviews in partnership with procurement and legal teams

Risk, Compliance & Security

  • Ensure environments comply with regulatory requirements, data privacy standards, and internal risk controls
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to implement security controls and monitor vulnerabilities
  • Support incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation for environment-related issues

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance environment performance and reduce manual effort
  • Support automation for provisioning, deployment, and monitoring
  • Develop and maintain environment documentation, standards, and best practices

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

  • Act as a liaison between investment business teams, IT, and vendors
  • Provide regular updates on environment status, risks, and improvement initiatives
  • Proactively manage and escalate environment-related risks and issues


Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing complex technical environments in large-scale IT or financial services environments
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, testing processes, and environment management tools
  • Deep knowledge of investment management business processes, including data, trading, and reporting systems
  • Experience integrating multiple platforms and technology stacks
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk management


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in Agile, DevOps, or CI/CD environments
  • Familiarity with ITIL or IT service management frameworks
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and automation tools
  • Prior experience supporting OCIO or investment consulting environments
