Job Summary
Perform laboratory testing on commercial cooking equipment per engineering test plans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Learn and perform laboratory testing on commercial kitchen equipment per engineering test plans.
- Create professional and thorough documentation of lab activities and testing for use of record keeping and to present to initiator via Microsoft Office programs.
- Perform troubleshooting steps to determine root cause of failure for new product development prototypes and field returns.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness in laboratory and prototype areas.
- Assist Engineering and R&D departments in the fabrication and building of prototypes.
- Assist in the design and implementation of products, processes, equipment, and documentation for all new projects.
- Independently analyze and improve existing products, processes, or designs, as assigned.
- Investigate, establish, and implement requirements for equipment, tooling, materials, and methods of manufacturing, including facilitating line flow as required for new or revised products.
- Seek continuous training opportunities to maintain technical proficiency in all technical aspects of position, including learning new test methods, fabrication methods (welding, soldering, etc.), and core competencies (mechanical, electrical, combustion).
- Participate in cost reduction and cost of quality programs.
- Identify opportunities for process and method improvements to align with a “Continuous Improvement” culture for continued growth.

Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Practicable knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical theory.
- Demonstrable knowledge of basic hand tool and electrical testing equipment.
- Associates degree (A.S. or A.A.) in the engineering or business fields preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; sit; talk; hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must also be able to stand in one position and move their body, from the waist up, for increments of up to one hour consistently. The employee is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Due to the industrious nature of our facility a drug test is a requirement of employment.
