Tawakal Halal Cafe is a nationally acclaimed, family-owned and operated restaurant serving East African cuisine. Tawakal means “to rely on” and our business is deeply rooted in family and our East Boston community. Employees work alongside owner Yahya Noor and his family to create a warm experience that customers come back for again and again. Currently, Tawakal is growing and maturing as a business, implementing new systems and preparing for further expansion.
We’re hiring front of house team members who will perform a variety of tasks. Reliability, professionalism, and trustworthiness are key qualities for any successful Tawakal team member. As a family business, Tawakal needs clear communication, teamwork and flexibility from all staff and values team members who take initiative and have a sense of pride in their work and the business. Tawakal is eager to provide growth opportunities as the business expands.
Front of house duties include taking and fulfilling orders, supporting smooth kitchen operations, managing phone and technology channels, addressing customer concerns or problems and maintaining the cleanliness of all FOH spaces. It is especially important that our customer-facing team members are enthusiastic, energetic, and excited to learn about and represent our cuisine and our family.
Well pay and all shifts include meals and breaks for religious practice or personal purposes. Restaurant experience and weekend availability and English proficiency are required. Full-time availability preferred. Somali, Arabic or Spanish proficiency is a plus!
