DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Designs, develops, and tests electrical devices and equipment, including communications systems, power generators, motors and navigation systems, and electrical systems for automobiles and aircraft.
- Oversee the manufacturing of these devices, systems, and equipment.
- Designs new ways to use electrical power to develop or improve products.
- Performs detailed calculations to develop manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.
- Directs manufacturing, installing, and testing of electrical equipment to ensure that products meet specifications and codes.
- Investigates complaints from customers or the public, evaluates problems, and recommend solutions.
- Works with project managers on production efforts to ensure that projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
- Designs electronic components, software, products, or systems for commercial, industrial, medical, military, or scientific applications.
- Analyzes customer needs and determines electrical system requirements, capacity, and cost to develop a system plan.
- Develops maintenance and testing procedures for electronic components and equipment. Evaluates systems and recommend design modifications or equipment repair.
- Inspect electronic equipment, instruments, and systems to make sure they meet safety standards and applicable regulations.
- Plans and develop applications and modifications for electronic properties used in parts and systems to improve technical performance.
- Cable interconnect engineers in the Mechanical Engineering Group require little supervision and perform assignments with creative ability, resourcefulness, and originality.

Engineers must take the initiative and be thorough and detailed. They must work effectively with individuals from various groups and at many levels of the organization. Hey must also demonstrate effective communication skills.
KNOWLEDGE, REQUIRED SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:
- Develop, design, and drive system and unit level electrical interconnection and power distribution schemes in collaboration with multidisciplinary project teams
- Prepare design concepts, block diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, cable/harness fabrication drawings utilizing 2D and 3D CAD (Computer Aided Design) software

Perform basic design calculations, and select appropriate components and hardware
Support part procurement, fabrication, and system level integration while reporting and maintaining program milestones

NICE TO HAVE:
- Possess knowledge of electronic design for aerospace applications, including connector selection, wire types/sizes/derating, voltage drops, electro-mechanical packaging, electrical fabrication, and assembly techniques.
- Possess knowledge of NASA, Military, ASME, and IEEE standards and specifications
Competency in SolidWorks and/or Zuken E3 -
Possess knowledge of PDM (Product Data Management) and/or PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software
