Job DescriptionDirector of Case Management

The Director of Case Management provides leadership and oversight for NSC’s Case Management Department. This role supervises case management staff, maintains an individual caseload, and ensures high-quality, client-centered services for NSC clients. The Director remains informed about emerging community needs and resources, serving as a central point for assistance, information, and referrals for Natick residents.

This position leads a high-volume, fast-paced department serving a large and diverse population of Natick households. The Director balances strategic oversight with direct service and team support to ensure equitable access to services.

Schedule & Employment Details

  • Schedule: Mon–Wed, 9am–5pm; Thurs, 9am–6pm; Fri, remote option, 9am–12pm
  • Availability for occasional evenings or weekends as needed

Key Responsibilities

Direct Client Services (70%)

  • Maintain an individual caseload
  • Conduct client intakes and assessments
  • Support clients in identifying and addressing barriers to stability through NSC programs and external referrals and advocacy
  • Collaborate with clients to prioritize needs and develop achievable service plans
  • Assist clients with applications, forms, and access to community resources
  • Advocate on clients’ behalf with agencies, funding sources, landlords, utility companies, and other entities as needed

Department Leadership & Supervision (30%)

  • Supervise, support, and evaluate the case management team
  • Assign and monitor caseloads to ensure equitable distribution, responsiveness, and quality service delivery
  • Provide guidance, consultation, and problem-solving support for complex cases
  • Set departmental goals that center around equity, access, and client dignity
  • Facilitate team meetings and support ethical, trauma-informed decision-making

Program Management & Administration

  • Oversee program budgets, data tracking, and evaluation
  • Prepare reports and monitor client outcomes
  • Make financial assistance and advocacy recommendations during team meetings
  • Coordinate and distribute quarterly (or more frequent, as needed) client communications

Community Engagement & Organizational Leadership

  • Represent NSC at partner agency meetings, coalitions, and community forums
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local service providers and municipal partners
  • Participate in organizational strategic initiatives, including strategic planning and program development
  • Engage in information-sharing, mutual consultation, and joint problem-solving with community partners

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college required; Master’s degree in Social Work or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of case management experience; at least 2 years working with low-income populations preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
  • Strong organizational, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of local social service resources and systems
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and families facing economic hardship
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, with demonstrated experience incorporating DEIB principles into programs, team culture, and community-facing work.
  • Bilingual preferred (some languages spoken: Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Russian, or Arabic)
