Deliver compassionate, expert nursing care in a supportive, team-oriented medical-surgical telemetry unit located in Montpelier, VT. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a well-equipped hospital setting providing care to a diverse adult patient population including telemetry monitoring, post-operative recovery, and chronic condition management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care on a medical-surgical telemetry unit, including telemetry rhythm monitoring, interpretation, and timely intervention.
- Perform bedside procedures such as NG tube insertion and peripheral IV placement.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including LPNs, LNAs, respiratory therapists, and charge nurses, to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Respond effectively to a variety of adult patient diagnoses such as COPD, CHF, diabetes, post-op ortho, urology, GI cases, end-of-life care, and dementia.
- Utilize hospital documentation and medication systems (Epic, Pyxis) proficiently.
- Participate in unit-specific protocols and maintain high standards of professional appearance and conduct.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active RN license with 2+ years of clinical nursing experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in telemetry nursing, including rhythm interpretation and application.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and Telemetry certifications required.
- Experience with peripheral IV placement preferred.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts with optional extra 8-hour shifts.
- Comfortable with floating to similar units occasionally.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical judgment skills.

Schedule and Additional Details:
- 12-hour shifts with scheduled coverage, including every other weekend and holiday rotations.
- No weekend mandatory requirements; scheduling managed via an online program with advance notice.
- Charge nurse responsibilities may be required on a rotating basis.
- Contract position with potential to extend or convert.
