Position Summary
In this role, you will perform routine MRI procedures on both a scheduled and emergency basis, ensuring a safe environment for patients while adhering to departmental QC and Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate requisitions for MRI procedures, abstracting data from patient charts, and determining appropriateness based on diagnosis and clinical signs.
- Select appropriate equipment and technical parameters to differentiate between normal and pathological anatomy.
- Assess patients’ and families’ physical and emotional readiness, tailoring care plans to individual needs.
- Explain MRI examinations and answer patient/family questions regarding the exam and magnetic field environment.
- Respond to patient uniqueness, creating a supportive and comfortable environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree in Allied Health
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current MA Radiologic Technologist license for MRI
- MRI registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), to be completed within 18 months of hire
- Must obtain and maintain ARRT certification
- BLS certification
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of MRI experience (Pediatric experience a plus)
