Job Description

Position Summary

In this role, you will perform routine MRI procedures on both a scheduled and emergency basis, ensuring a safe environment for patients while adhering to departmental QC and Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate requisitions for MRI procedures, abstracting data from patient charts, and determining appropriateness based on diagnosis and clinical signs.
  • Select appropriate equipment and technical parameters to differentiate between normal and pathological anatomy.
  • Assess patients’ and families’ physical and emotional readiness, tailoring care plans to individual needs.
  • Explain MRI examinations and answer patient/family questions regarding the exam and magnetic field environment.
  • Respond to patient uniqueness, creating a supportive and comfortable environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Allied Health
  • Licensure/Certification:
  • Current MA Radiologic Technologist license for MRI
  • MRI registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), to be completed within 18 months of hire
  • Must obtain and maintain ARRT certification
  • BLS certification
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of MRI experience (Pediatric experience a plus)
