Job Summary:

Buckingham Browne & Nichols School is seeking field hockey coaches for the MS (Grades 6-8) Athletic Program. The Field Hockey Coach will report to the Director of Athletics and work closely with the Associate Director of Athletics for the programs. The BB&N Athletic Department expects its coaches to operate within the athletic philosophy of BB&N and adhere to the BB&N Coaches Manual. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

• Planning practice and game oversight

• Mentoring and instructing middle school-age players in skill development, character development, and teamwork

• Communicating relevant information with parents/guardians regarding games, practices, and other team commitments

• Supporting and developing those students with an ability and/or desire to compete at the high school level

Middle School Coaching Schedule

• Pre-season Coaches Meeting during the early evening on Monday, August 25th

• Season starts Thursday, September 4, 2025, and ends November 4, 2025

• Practice is from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays

• There are 1-2 games each week (only on weekdays, usually on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday), with a coach on-site at 2:00pm for each game. Games generally end by 5:00pm.

Holidays when school is not in session include:

• Rosh Hashanah,

• Yom Kippur,

• Indigenous Peoples Day

• The day after Indigenous Peoples Day
