About the RoleEdgeTech Staffing is recruiting on behalf of our confidential manufacturer in the South Central Massachusetts area to hire an experienced Quality Engineer.
This facility produces high-reliability electronic and electromechanical components for defense and aerospace customers. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing and improving the Quality Management System (QMS) and driving a culture of quality across the operation.
What You Will Do:
- Develop, maintain, and improve a Quality Management System that meets AS9100, ISO 9001, and applicable defense requirements
- Standardize and implement quality processes including inspection, calibration, material control, corrective action, and supplier quality
- Prepare Quality Plans with process flows, control plans, PFMEAs, and test criteria for new and existing products
- Define quality metrics, audit schedules, and documentation controls to ensure data integrity and audit readiness
- Qualify and monitor suppliers to meet defense and high reliability electronic component standards
- Lead root cause analysis and CAPA activities to reduce defects and improve yield
- Partner with Engineering, Production, and Program Management to integrate quality into design, manufacturing, and test activities
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits and ensure compliance with ITAR, DFARS, and related requirements
Role Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field
- 7+ years of Quality Engineering experience in defense, aerospace, or complex electronics manufacturing
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing QMS processes
- Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and applicable military or defense standards
- Hands-on experience with SPC, root cause analysis, FMEA, and CAPA
- Proficiency with tools such as Minitab or other SPC software, and familiarity with ERP/QMS systems
- Experience in electro-mechanical, electro-optical, or precision assembly environments is highly desirable
- ASQ CQE or similar quality certification is a plus
- Experience supporting DoD or other government contracts is a plus
Details:
- Full-time, onsite role in the South Central Massachusetts area
- Base Salary Target Range: $90,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience
- Full benefits package provided by the client
