- Assignment Length: 16 weeks (potential extension up to 32 weeks)\n
- Healthcare Setting: Acute Med/Surg Telemetry Unit (51 beds)\n
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts\n
- Hours per Week: 36\n
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100-$2250\n
- Start Date: November 24, 2025\n
- End Date: March 15, 2026\n
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend; must work 2 out of 4 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day)\n
- Floating: Required to similar units (infrequent)\n
- Documentation System: Epic EMR\n
- Medication System: Pyxis\n
- Parking: Free onsite parking\n
\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n
- \n
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – required for all Vermont RN jobs\n
- AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications (NIHSS must be completed prior to start)\n
- Telemetry certification preferred\n
- Minimum 5 years of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience OR 3 years of dedicated Telemetry nursing experience\n
- Prior travel nursing experience required (at least 2 travel assignments in 300+ bed facilities OR previous experience at any UVMHN acute care facility)\n
- EPIC documentation experience within the past 2 years (required)\n
- Proficient in NG tube insertion, peripheral IV insertion, and telemetry strip interpretation\n
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (public transportation not accessible)\n
- Vehicles must have all-season or snow tires November–April\n
\n\nMed/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities\n
- \n
- Deliver acute care to adult patients with diverse diagnoses: telemetry, post-op ortho/urology/GI, COPD, CHF, diabetes, dementia, and end-of-life care\n
- Apply, interpret, and respond to telemetry rhythms for optimal patient monitoring\n
- Perform bedside procedures: NG tube insertion, peripheral IV placement, and telemetry strip interpretation\n
- Collaborate with RNs, LPNs, LNAs, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care\n
- Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR\n
- Float to similar medical-surgical units as needed\n
- Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical education\n
- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to hospital dress code standards\n
