Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to oversee daily operations within our sheet metal fabrication facility. The Production Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing production processes to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery. This role requires strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes, and the ability to manage people, materials, and workflow in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and manage daily sheet metal production operations to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate production staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to production schedules, adjusting workloads and resources as necessary.
  • Monitor fabrication processes, including cutting, forming, welding, and finishing, to maintain high standards of precision and quality.
  • Implement and enforce safety policies, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and quality control teams to resolve technical or production issues.
  • Optimize machine utilization and minimize downtime through proactive maintenance and scheduling.
  • Track and analyze production metrics (efficiency, scrap rates, labor utilization, etc.) to identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist with inventory management of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or related field (preferred).
  • Must have a minimum 5+ years of experience in manufacturing management.
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal processes (cutting, punching, forming, welding, assembly, finishing).
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and MS Office applications.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and meeting deadlines.
