Program Overview:

Lexington Medical, Inc. Intern Program is intended to attract undergraduate and graduate college students who are studying Electrical Engineering, or other related fields. You will be given the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the progress of Lexington and its products, while gaining business acumen and real-world experience which will better prepare you to continue to make impactful contributions throughout your career.

Successful candidates will gain hands-on, meaningful experience with embedded electrical systems design, PCB design, circuit debugging, and hardware-software integration. This program will give students real-world exposure to product development within the medical device industry. Students will gain experience with regulatory body standards, design control documentation, and proper engineering practices vital for the continued career of the student.

Education: Must be currently attending an accredited university as an undergraduate or graduate majoring in Electrical Engineering, or similar technical disciplines.

Timing: June 2026 – August 2026 (3-month Internship)

Location: Bedford, Massachusetts – This is a fully onsite role, 5 days per week.

Experience: Prior internship, co-op, or substantial hands-on project experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

Support R&D Engineering Activities:

  • Participate in developing continuous improvements on electrical systems and processes.
  • Support new product development through electrical testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Assist with component selection and supply chain engineering activities.
  • Create and maintain testing protocols, verification procedures, and engineering reports.
  • Support schematic capture and PCB design activities in accordance with industry and Lexington Medical, Inc. standards.

Work with Embedded Systems with Minimal Supervision:

  • Perform electrical testing and quality checks utilizing various test equipment to record data.
  • Support hardware bring-up and bench testing activities with minimal supervision.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics, work instructions, and design specifications.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Complete and understand documentation needed to comply with Lexington Medical, Inc. policies.
  • Work in a team environment with strong communication skills.
  • Maintain the safety and cleanliness of equipment and company product.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required.
  • Strong attention to detail (hint: Answer to the mystery question is 23. We're asking to help filter out AI-only applicants.)
  • Comply with all health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and job hazard assessments applicable to specified job activities including medical evaluations as required by job function.
