Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity calls for a licensed pharmacist ready to take charge of pharmacy operations with a focus on compliance, staff leadership, and patient care. The role is based in Brockton, MA, with a contract-to-hire arrangement offering a chance to transition into a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations including prescription dispensing and medication counseling.
- Maintain thorough records of pharmacy transactions, inventory, and controlled substances.
- Develop and enforce policies promoting safe and efficient pharmacy practices.
- Lead and support pharmacy staff, fostering professional growth and high-quality service.
- Manage inventory levels effectively to balance availability with waste reduction.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve medication-related issues.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring excellent service.
- Stay current with industry trends, medications, and regulatory changes to maintain compliance.
- Conduct audits to identify and mitigate compliance and safety risks.
- Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy environment by upholding infection control and safety standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts Pharmacist license.
- 2-4 years of experience in long-term care pharmacy.
- Recent pharmacy management experience, preferably in long-term care settings.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, primarily day shift, with some evening and weekend coverage as needed.
