Sasaki is a 300+ person international planning and design firm headquartered in Boston, MA, with locations in Denver, New York, and Los Angeles. We have a dynamic and creative culture with a reputation and body of work that spans over seventy years.

Sasaki is looking for an innovative, self-driven, and creative site civil engineer with 1-3 years of experience to join our multidisciplinary firm of landscape architects, architects, planners, urban designers, marketers, graphic designers, data analysts, ecologists, and civil engineers. We believe that a range of skills and perspectives are needed to tackle complex problems. This position is based out of our Boston office.

Role Description
The Sasaki civil team integrates engineering excellence with innovative site design; it is our focus and passion to create livable, sustainable, and resilient communities. Our work ranges from concept design to built work, from sports fields to urban parks, and can be found everywhere from Boston to Dubai. Team members can expect to hone their skills in stormwater management, utilities, and land development engineering through the planning, design, permitting, and construction processes. Success in this role requires strong communication skills and the ability to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail.


Preferred Software Skills:

  • AutoCAD/Civil 3D

  • Hydrology and Hydraulic Modeling Software (e.g. HydroCAD, InfoDrainage, etc.)

  • ArcGIS

Preferred Knowledge And Interest Areas:

  • Stormwater Management and Green Infrastructure

  • Resilient and Climate Sensitive Design

  • Utility Design

  • Earthwork Design

  • Cost Estimating, Construction Administration

  • Land Development site design

  • Experience researching zoning, development standards, development review processes, compliance matters, regulations, and standards

  • Experience preparing reports, narratives, development applications, submittal documents, and response letters

  • Ability to multi-task and coordinate on multiple projects, with multiple clients and sub-consultants

  • Effective technical and interpersonal communication

  • Sensitivity to aesthetic design strategy during engineering design
