An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a fast-growing civil engineering firm at their brand-new headquarters located in Lawrence, Massachusetts. The Role:
The Senior Project Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the design, permitting, and execution of land development projects. Reporting to senior leadership, this position will lead a team of civil and site engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of client projects. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with internal staff, clients, stakeholders, and regulatory boards. Success in this position will be defined by the ability to manage complex projects, mentor team members, maintain high-quality standards, and contribute to business development efforts.
Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of civil/site engineers to deliver high-quality land development projects

Oversee project schedules, permitting strategies, budgets, contracts, and invoicing

Provide quality control review across all phases of design development

Mentor and develop junior engineering staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment

Facilitate project meetings, including board and commission meetings and public presentations

Engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to deliver project solutions

Support business development activities aligned with the firm’s growth objectives

Ensure compliance with local and state regulatory requirements, including stormwater management
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification required

Minimum 7 years of experience managing land development projects

Strong understanding of the Massachusetts Stormwater Handbook, HydroCAD, and drainage report preparation

Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with attention to detail

Experience working with local boards and commissions on permitting processes
