Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a fast-growing civil engineering firm at their brand-new headquarters located in Lawrence, Massachusetts. This firm is dedicated to delivering high-quality land development solutions for private developer clients and has built a reputation for innovation, excellence, and a collaborative culture. With recent expansion and projected growth, they are looking for a strategic leader to guide their talented team and contribute to the company’s continued success.

The Role:

The Senior Project Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the design, permitting, and execution of land development projects. Reporting to senior leadership, this position will lead a team of civil and site engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of client projects. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with internal staff, clients, stakeholders, and regulatory boards. Success in this position will be defined by the ability to manage complex projects, mentor team members, maintain high-quality standards, and contribute to business development efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of civil/site engineers to deliver high-quality land development projects

  • Oversee project schedules, permitting strategies, budgets, contracts, and invoicing

  • Provide quality control review across all phases of design development

  • Mentor and develop junior engineering staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment

  • Facilitate project meetings, including board and commission meetings and public presentations

  • Engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to deliver project solutions

  • Support business development activities aligned with the firm’s growth objectives

  • Ensure compliance with local and state regulatory requirements, including stormwater management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification required

  • Minimum 7 years of experience managing land development projects

  • Strong understanding of the Massachusetts Stormwater Handbook, HydroCAD, and drainage report preparation

  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with attention to detail

  • Experience working with local boards and commissions on permitting processes

Competitive compensation, commensurate with experience

Location:

Hybrid role based at the new headquarters in Lawrence Massachusetts; some in-office presence required to support team and client needs
