Job Title: IT Assistant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented IT Assistant to support our internal technology operations and infrastructure. This role involves a combination of technical troubleshooting, hands-on equipment management, and collaboration with both internal teams and external vendors. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter capable of working independently while also thriving as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Analysis & Auditing:
- Assist in processing and auditing camera footage for technical, physical, and environmental issues, and report findings promptly.
- Assist in the creation, updating and documentation of internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and department processes.
Vendor and Employee Communication:
- Contact and coordinate with external companies on behalf of the department to resolve technical issues (e.g., warranty call-ins for printers).
- Serve as a point of contact for the department and appropriately relay information.
Hardware & Network Support:
- Provide Level 1 technical assistance and troubleshooting
- Configure access badges and local network controls as requested.
- Assist with the installation and troubleshooting of cameras, access points (AP), and other network devices.
- Assist with wire running and cable management/termination projects.
Emergency Response & On-Call Duties:
- Maintain on-call availability for prompt emergency responses to locations experiencing network issues.
- Collaborate with in-house staff to develop datasheets and leverage available resources (AI, API, etc.) to optimize internal processes.
Physical & Safety Requirements:
- Able to consistently lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Teamwork & Confidentiality:
- Work both independently and as part of a collaborative team on projects.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in aspects of the role interfacing with end users.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Previous experience in a technical or IT support role is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and basic network troubleshooting.
- Experience in cable management, hardware installations, or related technical tasks is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Basic to intermediate understanding of networking concepts a plus.
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot computers and IT hardware/network components.
- Experience using or willingness to learn emerging technologies, including AI and API tools.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills and a customer service orientation.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
- Possess the physical ability to climb ladders, operate industrial lifts, and crawl in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Must have reliable personal transportation for on-call emergency response duties.
