Job Title: Application Cloud Engineer

Location: Cambridge, MA (Hybrid)

Duration: 12+ Months with the possibility of full-time

Pay Rate: $35/Hr on W2


• Design, build, and maintain cloud-based applications and infrastructure using AWS and some Azure technologies.

• Support application development teams in deploying, scaling, and monitoring microservices and serverless applications.

• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools.

• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues related to cloud environments.

• Work with security teams to ensure compliance with cloud governance and best practices.

• Optimize cost, performance, and reliability across cloud workloads.

• Automate operational tasks and improve system efficiency through scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).

• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response when necessary.


Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Prior experience supporting Pharma/Biotech scientific applications

• 3–5 years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or software infrastructure roles.

• Proficiency with one or more major cloud platforms (AWS).

• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, AKS, or GKE).

• Strong understanding of networking, load balancing, and cloud security fundamentals.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, version control (Git), and automation tools.

• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.


Preferred:

• Pharma\Biotech IT experience in supporting scientific applications

• Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate).

• Knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and modern application architectures.

• Exposure to Agile/Scrum development practices.
