About the Assistant Project Manager Role
Were looking for a highly motivated Assistant Project Manager, Direct to Owner to join our Service Group. This is a growth-oriented role designed for someone eager to learn and expand their knowledge of project management in the construction and mechanical systems space. Youll work closely with multiple project managers across diverse project types, helping to coordinate documentation, schedules, procurement, and on-site field support.

What Youll Do
General & Documentation
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of various projects.
- Maintain structured project documentation and ensure timely distribution to team members.
- Assist in reading and understanding project documents, including drawings and specifications.
Field Support
- Ensure foremen have the most up-to-date project information.
- Review daily job reports and provide assistance as needed.
- Regularly document on-site progress through photos.
Permitting & Procurement
- Assist with researching jurisdiction requirements and obtaining necessary permits.
- Support procurement activities by soliciting vendor bids and preparing purchase orders.
- Coordinate material and equipment deliveries and help develop fabrication release schedules.
Contract Administration & Closeout
- Submit and track RFIs, submittals, and bulletins.
- Manage punchlists and contribute to the creation of closeout packages.
- Collect as-built markups and collaborate on final documentation.
Financials & Labor
- Support the creation of change order estimates and project cost entries.
- Approve invoices and maintain labor tracking documents.
- Help ensure timesheet accuracy and project phase code usage.
Meetings & Communication
- Attend project and coordination meetings; assist in taking minutes and tracking action items.
- Support milestone meeting preparations and contribute to project postmortems.
What You Bring
- Education & Experience: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a related field, 0-2 years of experience.
- Tech-Savviness: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam, scheduling software (Microsoft Project), and Navisworks.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to clearly convey ideas, document project progress, and collaborate with team members.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive approach to managing challenges and shifting priorities.
- Bonus Points: Knowledge of mechanical systems or construction industry experience is a plus!
