Alumni Ventures (AV) is a distinguished venture capital firm with over 10,000 investors who have collectively invested more than $1.3 billion. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about the venture capital ecosystem, entrepreneurship, or emerging technologies. In this role, you will collaborate to design, build, and refine tools that enhance our marketing, sales, and investment functions—many of which will incorporate advanced AI capabilities.

This is a hybrid position based in our new Andover, MA office (three days in-office and two days remote).

What You Will Do

• Develop and maintain high-quality code for critical internal applications.
• Architect and implement new software solutions using modern frameworks and best practices in Python and/or JavaScript.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and contribute to project planning.
• Solve complex technical challenges with practical and scalable solutions.
• Establish and enforce robust unit testing practices to ensure software quality.
• Work alongside stakeholders, developers, and project managers to ensure timely delivery of software features.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language: Python or JavaScript.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a software engineer, with full-stack experience being highly desirable.
• Ability to excel in a hybrid work setting, with a commitment to collaboration in our office environment three days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with serverless architectures and AWS.
• Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and modern database design principles.
• Exposure to the financial or investment industry.
• Experience integrating with third-party APIs (e.g., HubSpot, NetSuite).

Base Salary: $140,000-$180,000 plus equity and corporate bonus
