Job Summary
A top-tier Critical Access Hospital located in the heart of the Green Mountains, is looking for two Med-Surg/Telemetry RNs. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a versatile environment that covers a broad spectrum of care—from Orthopedics and Pediatrics to Step-Down/Special Care. As a community hospital, the facility emphasizes high-quality, direct patient care and requires nurses who can handle diverse patient populations across the lifespan.
Key Responsibilities
- Multispecialty Care: Manage a varied patient load including Orthopedic post-ops, Pediatric medical patients, and Telemetry-monitored adults.
- Special Care (SCU/PCU): Provide care for higher-acuity "Step-Down" patients requiring frequent monitoring and intervention.
- Clinical Leadership: Oversee the delegation of tasks to LPNs and support staff while ensuring all care meets Vermont state regulations and Department of Nursing standards.
- The Nursing Process: Utilize assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation to manage patient outcomes effectively.
- Documentation: Utilize CPSI/Evident EMR for all patient charting and medication administration.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Open to nurses with less than 1 year of experience (a rare find for travel contracts—great for those looking to build their resume).
- Licensure: Vermont RN license is required upon acceptance of the offer.
- Certifications (Must be active prior to start):
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- PALS (AHA) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course).
- Note: If certifications are not active, you must have a course booked by the time of clinical orientation.
Assignment Details & Expectations
- Shifts: 12-hour Nights. The schedule may be "varied" depending on unit needs.
- Staffing Model: As a Critical Access Hospital, you will be expected to be a "jack-of-all-trades," potentially floating between standard floor beds and higher-acuity observation/PCU beds.
- Location: Morrisville, VT 05661. This location is minutes away from world-class skiing and hiking in Stowe, VT.
- EMR: Proficiency in CPSI/Evident is a plus, though training is typically provided.
