Millennium Power Services is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CNC and Manual Machinist to join our team in Westfield, MA. As a Machinist, you will play a key role in our production process, utilizing your expertise to fabricate precision parts using both manual and CNC machining techniques. Responsibilities:
- Setting Up and Operating Machines: Set up and operate both manual and CNC machines, including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and Multi-Axis CNC lathe (DOOSAN), PROTO TRAK Lathes, Milling Machines (PROTO TRAK), and Bridgeport.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Tool Selection and Maintenance: Select the right cutting tools, fixtures, and materials. Monitor machine performance, make necessary adjustments, and perform routine maintenance.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with stringent quality standards and specified tolerances.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with team members, engineers, and supervisors to discuss project requirements and machining processes.
- Safety and Maintenance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and perform routine machine maintenance.
- Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to minimize downtime.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of production activities, materials used, time spent on each job, and any issues encountered.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience strongly preferred.
- Proven experience as a Machinist with a strong understanding of both manual and CNC machining processes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Skilled in setting up and operating both manual and CNC machining equipment.
- Mastercam programming experience with Proto Trak control required.
- Experience with Haas & Doosan multi-axis machines preferred.
- Strong understanding of precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and dial bores.
- Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and machining accessories.
- Strong math skills, including geometry.
- Knowledge of various metal properties and machinability.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical education or certification is a plus.
Position Details:
- Regular hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.
- Overtime and weekend hours available and required as needed.
- Opportunity for travel to serve customers onsite.
