Under the guidance of the Program Director, the Nutrition Site Supervisor (NSS) oversees all aspects of the Meals on Wheels and Senior Dining Program at site level. The NSS is responsible for the management, development and evaluation of the Nutrition Site Coordinators. The NSS will participate in program administration and ensure compliance of all state and federal regulations regarding the Tittle III C Nutrition program. NSS functions as a member of the Nutrition Program Management Team.

  • Participates in the hiring of Nutrition Site Staff.
  • Trains, supervises and evaluates Nutrition Site Coordinators.
  • Establishes staffing patterns at Nutrition Sites for daily coverage, and when necessary, substitutes at meal sites in the absence of Coordinator.
  • Ensures Nutrition Sites have appropriate supplies and shelf stable meals.
  • Ensures that program staff maintain the standards of food service quality and sanitation guidelines established by the Executive Office of Aging & Independence (AGE).
  • Ensure that records, reports and policies of ESCCI and AGE are maintained and updated.
  • Monitors the administration and use of petty cash at Nutrition Sites.
  • Assists Program Director to plan and implement regularly scheduled meetings for in-services and training for program staff.
  • Assist the Program Director with Nutrition Committee responsibilities.
  • Creates meal care plans as requested by Home Care and the Senior Care Options programs.
  • Assist Site Coordinators and the Volunteer Resources Manager with recruitment of site volunteers.
  • Interact with community agencies as appropriate to maintain program goals and mission.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to collaborate, take initiative, provide/ receive feedback.
  • Excellent computer skills required. Ability to work independently and professionally.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and train program staff.
  • Ability to work effectively with community groups and host sites.
  • A car and valid MA driver’s license are required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or a related field with a minimum of two years administrative experience, preferred: or High School diploma and a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Nutrition Case Manager.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift to 30 pounds.
