A professional nursing opportunity is available in a cardiac step-down unit providing comprehensive care for patients in a specialized medical setting. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to patients in the cardiac step-down unit, managing complex cardiac conditions and medical-surgical telemetry.
- Monitor patient status using telemetry equipment and specialized medical devices such as IV pumps, hi-flow oxygen systems, BiPAP, and pacemakers.
- Perform advanced clinical procedures including thoracentesis, peritoneal dialysis, tracheostomy care, cardiac catheterization support, and CIWA assessments.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to unit policies.
- Utilize Meditech Expanse for accurate and timely documentation and communication.
- Adhere to established patient ratios (5:1) promoting safe and effective care delivery.
- Participate in bedside shift rounds and handoff protocols to support continuity of care.
Desired Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse with current licensure.
- Proficient in telemetry monitoring and interpretation.
- Experience with cardiac care management preferred.
- Certifications required: Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Ability to follow professional dress code and unit policies.
Schedule:
- Three 12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend required or alternate four-week shift options.
