The Medical Assistant at Terra Fertility plays a critical role in the patient experience, providing both clinical and administrative support. This position assists patients throughout their visit, including rooming, collecting vitals, phlebotomy, scheduling follow-up appointments, maintaining exam rooms, and supporting physicians during diagnostic and treatment procedures such as HSGs, saline sonograms, and IUIs.

Key Responsibilities
- Greet and room patients in a professional, compassionate manner.
- Obtain and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, and weight.
- Willingness to learn basic OBGYN ultrasound skills.
- Perform blood draws (phlebotomy) and other specimen collection tasks as required.
- Assist providers during procedures such as HSG, saline sonograms, IUIs, and endometrial biopsies.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, including cleaning, restocking, and disinfecting.
- Schedule patient follow-up appointments and coordinate care with administrative staff.
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of clinical information into the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Schedule lab tests as directed; review results and annotate appropriate disposition.
- Educate patients on procedures and answer basic clinical questions within scope of practice.
- Perform urine pregnancy test, document results in EMR, and communicate with physician, nurse practitioner, or rad technician prior to exam/procedure.
- Cleaning, packaging, and sterilizing instruments using an autoclave, while maintaining strict adherence to infection control protocols. Must ensure accurate and detailed documentation of all sterilization procedures and instrument tracking.
- Clean stationary room equipment, underside of exam tables, and provide clean/linens/supplies for all patient rooms’ weekly minimum, or as needed.
- Monitor and order clinical supplies to maintain efficient clinic function.
- Support quality assurance and infection control practices.
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Collaborate closely with clinical and administrative teams to deliver seamless care.
- Participate in training and quality improvement initiatives as needed.
Employment Details and Benefits
- This is a full-time, non-exempt position based on-site in Dedham, Massachusetts. The position follows a daytime schedule with occasional early mornings and rotational weekends/holidays
- Salary range $23-30/hr depending on experience and qualifications

Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant certification or LPN licensure required
- Phlebotomy certification strongly preferred, with documentation of at two hundred (200) successful blood draws
- At least 2+ years clinical experience required
- Women’s Health or fertility experience preferred
- Proficient in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred but not required
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on compassionate patient care.
- Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, occasional weekends, and holidays.
