Shift: Mon-Thur. 6am-4:30pm
$18.50-22/hour DOE
Under the responsibility of the production supervisor the Mixing & Weighing Operators are responsible for completing assigned tasks effectively and efficiently, while maintaining a high standard of quality, safety and adherence to procedures.
Qualifications required
2 years of experience in a similar position;
High School Diploma;
Knowledge of food hygiene standards (HACCP);
Knowledge of good food practices in manufacturing;
Knowledge of machine setups; and
Knowledge of Hazardous Materials is an asset.
List of responsibilities:
Weighing Operator:
Follows and accomplishes the weekly schedule via production report;
Reads and interprets Mix Ticket to determine ingredients needed;
Weighs all ingredients needed in order to mix accurately;
Identifies and confirms weighed ingredients are ready for mixing;
Verifies that all the ingredients are ready for production (verify quantity, type, etc. according to recipe);
Populates and validates the production reports;
Conducts returns of extra ingredients by weighing and counting unused ingredients to be returned to the inventory;
Coordinates with Warehouse to return ingredients;
Disassembles and cleans the equipment when the schedule requires according to HACCP standards;
Coordinates with the Quality Control Department regarding necessary quality checks during processes;
Communicates with other departments (Maintenance, Warehouse, etc.) as the need may demand;
Communicates to the supervisor any incidents related to safety, quality, equipment, etc.;
Completes all necessary paperwork for production operations;
Ensures the security of the equipment;
Keeps the workplace clean according to HACCP standards; and
Completes other tasks, as assigned.
Mixing Operator:
Follows and accomplishes the weekly schedule via production report;
Verifies ingredients are ready for mixing production stages (quantity, type, etc. according to Mix Ticket);
Populates and validates the production reports
Mixes all ingredients, into 150 and 500 kilo Mixer, according to the Mix Ticket;
Follows recipe specifications in terms of mixing time, order of ingredients, components to use, etc.;
Manipulates large machinery;
Calibrates machine components;
Uses independent judgement when adjusting machine components due to consistency differences in powders;
Dry cleans and washes the equipment when the schedule requires and according to HACCP standards;
Communicates to the supervisor any incidents related to safety, quality, equipment, etc.;
Operates mixing machinery according to outlined procedures and Healthy and Safety guidelines;
Coordinates with the Quality Control Department regarding necessary quality checks during processes;
Communicates with other departments (Maintenance, Warehouse, etc.) as the need may demand;
Communicates to the supervisor any incidents related to safety, quality, equipment, etc.;
Completes all necessary paperwork for production operations;
Ensures the security of the equipment;
Keeps the workplace clean according to HACCP standards; and
Completes other tasks, as assigned.
