Job Title: RN PACU
Location: Middlebury, Vermont, 05753
Contract duration: 13 weeks
Shift:4X10-hours
Schedule: Days
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe, competent post-anesthesia nursing care for patients across the lifespan (ages 0–99).
- Perform pre-operative assessments and patient education.
- Manage Phase I (immediate post-op) and Phase II (step-down/recovery) care.
- Complete patient discharges, ensuring comprehension of instructions.
- Recover C-section patients and support emergent after-hours surgical cases.
- Monitor and manage pain control, hemodynamic stability, airway function, and post-op complications.
- Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical team, and support staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Operate and troubleshoot monitoring and infusion equipment as necessary.
- Document care accurately using EPIC electronic health record.
- Participate in on-call rotations, providing timely response within 30 minutes.
Requirements:
- Active RN License
- Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS
- Minimum 1 year PACU/ASU experience
- Experience in Pre-Op, Phase I/II Recovery, and Discharges
- Must have experience recovering C-Section patients
- Prior Travel Experience required
- Must work 2 out of 4 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day
- No block scheduling
