What you will be doing:

As a behavior therapist, you are directly responsible for providing the one-to-one instruction of skills and alternatives to interfering behavior(s) based on the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

What we are looking for in our team players:

· Helpful (but not required) to have experience with individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities with accompanying behavioral disorders.

· Capability to work independently as well as in a team environment with colleagues and Supervisors.

· Exhibits excellent articulation skills in both verbal and written communication.

· Possesses the aptitude to coordinate with others in recognizable and demonstrated ways.

· Excellent attention to detail

· Ability, with training, to perform appropriate physical restraint as needed

· Punctuality and accountability

· Capacity to maintain confidentiality and a high standard of ethics; Work well with teams (staff, families, and clinical consultants).

· Timely and accurate notification and documentation of incidents and plans.

· Can receive feedback in a professional manner and work independently with initial direction.

· Skilled at standing for extended periods of time when needed and/or walk/run after clients

· Excellent play skills for toddler/young child age groups, along with the agility to get up from and down to floor level to interact with clients at their level

· Capable of cleaning up after client sessions and helping out other staff when asked.

Job Requirements:

· 18+ and possess a GED/High School Diploma or higher

· Valid driver's license

· Reliable vehicle available to them at all times

· Successfully pass a CORI check

· Successfully pass a DRIVING record check

Requirements:

The therapist must possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective organizational skills including the ability to: multitask, prioritize tasks, and communicate well with other staff.
  • Punctuality and accountability
  • Must practice confidentiality and maintain a high standard of ethics; Work well with teams (staff, families, and clinical consultants).
  • Maintain a positive attitude and show enthusiasm at work every day; Provide support in crisis situations, consistently implementing predetermined behavioral strategies.
  • Timely and accurate notification and documentation of incidents and plans.
  • Maintain accurate data and graphing on all designated programs.
  • Receive feedback in a professional manner and work independently with initial direction.
  • May work with other specialists and/or parents to implement additional specified goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a GED/High School Diploma or higher
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must have a reliable vehicle available to them at all times
  • Must successfully pass a CORI check
  • Must successfully pass a DRIVING record check
