Practice

  • Monday: 4pm-6pm
  • Wednesday: 4pm-6pm
  • Friday: 4pm-6pm

Swim Meets

  • Saturday: Schedule TBD

Candidates must be able to attend a minimum of two practices a week and ALL scheduled swim meets, as noted above.

Summary

The WestFit Club is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Swim Team Coach to join our Dolphin Swim Team for the upcoming Winter season, which runs from October 13, 2025, to March 8, 2026. Working directly under our Head Coach, you will play a vital role in the daily training and development of our swimmers, ranging in age from 6 to 18 years old.

Your responsibilities will include assisting with practice plans, providing one-on-one stroke instruction, and helping to manage small groups. You will also attend all scheduled meets to provide on-deck support for our athletes. The ideal candidate has a strong background in competitive swimming, whether as a former athlete or an experienced coach. We are looking for an individual with exceptional communication skills and a patient, positive demeanor. Your passion for working with young athletes and your ability to serve as a strong role model are paramount to our team's success. Responsibilities

  • Assist Head Coach in planning and leading practices and workouts for swimmers (ages 6-18).
  • Provide stroke correction and technique feedback to swimmers (ages 6-18) of all skill levels.
  • Actively supervise swimmers to ensure their safety and well-being during practices and meets.
  • Help manage and organize team equipment.
  • Attend and assist at all team meets, including warm-ups and cool-downs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, hard work, and personal growth.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with swimmers, parents, and fellow coaches.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of current swim techniques, rules, and safety protocols.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Previous experience in competitive swimming, either as a swimmer or a coach.
  • Strong knowledge of proper stroke technique and training methods.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain them before the start of the season).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to motivate and connect with young athletes.
  • A reliable and flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
