Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering exceptional services. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging and assist in creating accurate dental models.
- Monitor and record vital signs of patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Practice four-handed dentistry by effectively assisting the dentist during treatments.
- Manage patient records using Epic software for accurate documentation and medical coding.
- Provide education to patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Experience
- Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with X-ray technology and 3D scanning equipment is advantageous.
- Knowledge of infection control standards and HIPAA regulations is essential.
- Experience with medical coding will be considered a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
