Job SummaryWe are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong proficiency in mechanical design, particularly in piping and steel frame design, and hands-on experience using Inventor, Vault, and AutoCAD. The ideal candidate will have at least 3–5 years of relevant mechanical design and drafting experience and be eager to contribute to a high-performing design team that develops skidded systems used in industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project and Applications Engineers in developing initial and final design solutions for proposals and projects.
- Create Equipment General Arrangement drawings and full Plant Layouts.
- Prepare 2D CAD designs and 3D models of fabricated, skidded systems using AutoCAD and Inventor.
- Draft piping isometrics and system drawings aligned with engineering standards and best practices.
- Coordinate and integrate vendor drawings and technical documentation into project plans.
- Review and verify drawings for accuracy, manufacturability, and assembly feasibility.
- Prepare comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensure alignment with project specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver compliant, high-quality designs.
- Follow and contribute to CAD standards, including libraries, paper/model space management, and publishing.
- Participate in on-site visits and support field engineering efforts when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of design and drafting experience in piping and steel structure layout.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Inventor, and Vault.
- Strong understanding of piping specifications, flow diagrams, plot plans, and interpreting vendor data.
- Skilled in drafting 3D models for manufacturing and assembly purposes.
- Familiar with skidded system design for water, wastewater, chemical, or petroleum applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with skidded or modular systems in industrial environments.
- Knowledge of Drafting CAD Standards and engineering document control best practices.
- Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Field or fabrication shop experience is a plus.
Certifications (if any)
- None required, but any CAD-related certifications (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) are a plus.
