The Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Master Technician is a highly skilled and certified automotive technician responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on vehicles from the Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram brands. This role requires expert knowledge of both mechanical and electronic systems, exceptional diagnostic abilities, and a deep understanding of the latest technologies used in these vehicles. The Master Technician is expected to provide the highest level of service, lead other technicians, and ensure all work meets manufacturer standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Diagnose and Repair: Perform high-level diagnostics on Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram vehicles to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues. Repair and replace parts and systems including engines, transmissions, braking systems, electrical components, and more.
· Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid replacements.
· Advanced Diagnostics: Utilize specialized tools, scan tools, and diagnostic software to identify complex problems. Troubleshoot advanced systems such as advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), hybrid/electric powertrains, and infotainment systems.
· Customer Communication: Provide clear explanations to customers regarding vehicle issues and necessary repairs. Offer advice on how to maintain their vehicles in optimal condition.
· Technical Leadership: Serve as a mentor and resource for less experienced technicians. Assist in training and sharing knowledge about troubleshooting techniques, repair procedures, and new technologies.
· Quality Control: Ensure all work completed meets Chrysler's service standards and is done in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner. Complete necessary documentation and vehicle records.
· Stay Current with Technology: Continuously update knowledge of new vehicle models, technologies, and repair techniques through ongoing training and certification programs provided by the manufacturer and other relevant organizations.
· Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
· Parts Ordering and Inventory Management: Order and install parts as needed for vehicle repairs. Ensure proper management of parts inventory and make recommendations for stocking necessary parts.
Qualifications:
Certification & Training:
· Master Technician certification through Chrysler (MOPAR) or equivalent certification.
· ASE Certification (Automotive Service Excellence) in multiple areas preferred.
· Ongoing participation in Chrysler’s training programs and technical updates.
Experience:
· Minimum of 5 years of experience as an automotive technician, with at least 2 years specializing in Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram vehicles.
· Proven track record of diagnosing and repairing complex issues on vehicles.
Skills:
· Strong diagnostic skills using advanced scan tools and equipment.
· In-depth knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, engines, transmissions, and other critical components.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to customers and team members.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift heavy parts (up to 50 pounds) and perform tasks that require bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
Other Requirements:
· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of quality.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience with hybrid/electric vehicles and ADAS technology.
· Familiarity with Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram service bulletins and repair manuals.
· Leadership or mentoring experience in a technical setting.
Working Conditions:
· The role is based in a service shop environment, which can involve exposure to noise, heat, and mechanical equipment.
· May require working weekends or extended hours based on customer needs and business requirements.
