Responsibilities:

<li>Assist with and facilitate creative activities with residents and encourage residents to participate.</li>

<li>Assist with and provide appropriate group and one-on-one activity for all residents as required.</li>
<li>Sort, deliver and assist residents with daily mail.</li>

<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>
<li>Attend outdoor events with residents on and off property.</li>
<li>Sunroom and 1:1's with residents.</li>

Requirements

<li>An attitude of respect and compassion towards all residents and staff.</li>
<li>Ability to communicate clearly using ASL.</li>
<li>Pleasant personality and ability to maintain a calm demeanor during excitable or emergency situations.</li>
<li>All staff are required to take our free, on-site ASL and Culture classes.</li>
</ul>
 
Physical Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, pull, push, or otherwise move objects and/or residents.</li>
<li>Ability to push residents in wheelchairs, with unknown limit of bodyweight.</li>
<li>Ability to successfully set up activities on an independent level.</li>
<li>Ability to transcribe.</li>

Position Summary: The Concierge serves as an ambassador to the community and supports the Business Office Manager in meeting his/her responsibility for overall administration of the community. All responsibilities will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the Maplewood Community philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:

<li>Provides positive first impression to all who enter the community</li>
<li>Answers and screens all incoming telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner, Routes calls and takes messages, as appropriate</li>
<li>Greets all visitors in a friendly, courteous and professional manner. Screens and requires visitors to “sign in” at reception desk. Notifies residents of visitors, Instructs resident’s visitor according to resident’s instructions.</li>
<li>Receives and processes mail for community staff. Accepts all outgoing mail/packages.</li>
<li>Types, copies, orders, and maintains inventory of office supplies, and performs other clerical duties.</li>
<li>Maintains and updates log of all emergency phone numbers. Keeps log at front desk.</li>
<li>Maintains and updates emergency contact information on each resident. Keeps information at front desk.</li>
<li>Assists managers with various clerical responsibilities.</li>
<li>Pages staff wearing beepers as necessary.</li>
<li>Takes RSVPs for special functions as necessary.</li>
<li>Oversees sign-up for scheduled transportation.</li>
<li>Hands out maintenance requests forms and pass on to maintenance.</li>
</ul>
Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification:
<ul>
<li>High School Diploma required</li>
<li>Must possess a high degree of interpersonal relations skills and capability of relating to a variety of people and personalities. Considerable initiative and judgment is also required.</li>
<li>Must have word processing and clerical skills.</li>
