Job Description
Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories (MERL) is seeking a self-motivated senior Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering for a 3–month internship focused on developing and applying multi-modal large language models (LLMs) with application in anomaly detection, time sequence analysis, and predictive maintenance, etc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning and signal processing, with a proven publication record in top conferences and journals. Experience in fine-tuning LLM foundation models is preferred. The intern will collaborate with MERL researchers to design and develop LLM-based frameworks for analyzing multi-modal sensor data, prepare technical reports, and contribute to manuscripts for scientific publications. The start date is flexible.
