<li>Maintain accurate attendance for each class as well as updated skill completions using all required forms.&nbsp; Any student missing 3 classes should be reported to the Aquatic Director.</li>

<li>Maintain control and safety of the class. Keep a watchful eye on everyone in the class. All children in flotation should always be within arm’s reach, and never turn your back on a class.</li>
<li>Exercise good judgment, competence in meeting the goals, objectives, needs and interest of the YMCA, the class as a whole and the individual student.</li>
<li>Incorporate all five-program components into each lesson: personal safety, water orientation/stroke development, water sports and games, rescue and personal growth.</li>

<li>Participate in all branch safety and quality drills</li>
<li>Attend all required monthly and yearly in-service trainings</li>

Our camp is a traditional outdoor day camp, that serves youth ages 6-13 while coaching campers to build relationships, try new things, make memories, and ensure camper safety all while having fun and acting as positive role models. We strive to build supportive and empowering teams to help all team members show up as their best and most authentic selves, so that you can learn, grow and thrive during your tenure at the Y. 
 
Counselors will be assigned to a unit/group of same-age campers that best fits their preferences, experiences and the needs of the camp. They will work with fellow counselors to manage campers, facilitate and participate in camp activities, and build valuable peer to peer connections. 
 
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Build positive nurturing relationships with campers </li>
<li>Build cooperative relationships with coworkers, supervisors and parents </li>
<li>Lead and participate in a variety of camp activities – arts &amp; crafts, STEM, active games and more </li>
<li>Engage positively in camp life in a variety of weather and locations – indoors, outside, aquatics area, in the rain, summer heat, and beyond! </li>
<li>Engage with campers in a way that fosters Character building </li>
<li>Uphold the YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Courage </li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Experience working or volunteering with youth in a recreation, or similar setting, preferred </li>
<li>Must be willing and able to obtain CPR &amp; First Aid Certifications, or currently hold </li>
<li>Must be available to attend camp trainings before and throughout camp season </li>
<li>Able to bring a patient, caring, responsible, flexible and positive attitude to work </li>
</ul>
Position Specifics:

<li>Camp season runs 06/23/2025 through 08/22/2025 and must be able to work most of the camp weeks </li>
