The Karishim Swim Club at the JCC Greater Boston in Newton, MA, is seeking a Swim Coach (KASC). The Aquatics Department is a friendly, high-performing team inspired to use its knowledge and passion to help athletes grow in and out of the pool. Swim coaches work with enthusiastic families and colleagues as they develop their teams. 
This is a part-time non-exempt position with 20+ hours a week, including weekend meets. Offering some great benefits and a competitive pay rate of $25-$30 per hour. We are currently in need of coaches who can work a part time schedule (12-20 hours / week). Currently in need of coaches who can easily travel within the Brockton area.
Classes are scheduled in 35 minute time slots starting from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, M-F. You will be working with children ages 2-6 at various preschools throughout the area. Classes may be scattered throughout the day, but most coaches will work no more than 4-5 classes in a day.

 Duties and Responsibilities: 
<ol>
<li>Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.</li>
<li>Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents.</li>
<li>Evaluates students progress, and completes required paperwork in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Interacts with parents/guardians on the activities and development of students swim skills.</li>
<li>Acts as a GSS ambassador to ensure parental satisfaction.</li>
<li>Uses problem solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter.</li>
<li>Inspects pool areas before and after each class for possible maintenance, cleanliness or damage issues. Reports issues to management as appropriate.</li>
<li>Participates in set up and clean up of the pool area before and after shifts by: maintaining proper storage of pool equipment, placing and removing lane lines, clearing out skimmer baskets, and participating in pre and post shift.</li>
<li>Reports accidents and incidents to management. Completes required documentation and paperwork.</li>
<li>Performs light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, trash removal etc. on occasion.</li>
<li>Attends required/mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours.</li>
<li>Other duties and responsibilities as needed. </li>

Safety Standards: The safety of our swimmers, parents and team members is of the utmost importance. Goldfish Swim School follows all CDC and WHO safety standards along with following any local guidelines. Education/Experience: Must be at least 15 years old to apply. Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor and/or childcare provider preferred but not required. Swimming experience is preferred. Clear background check is required. Certificates and Licenses: CPR, AED and First Aid certification required within 90 days of hire. The JCC Greater Boston's Adaptive Swim instructor is a specialist in our swim program. This is an opportunity for you to transform the lives of people you work with while developing lifelong skills. 
Our Adaptive Swim Instructors use previous experience, coupled with the Swim Angelfish methodology, while receiving significant team support. The Aquatics Team is a lively and fun group to work with. We seek new team members who possess high standards, are customer service-oriented, and are collaborative.
Responsibilities include, and are not limited to:

<li>Create a safe, supportive environment which fosters confidence and develops swimmer proficiency</li>
<li>Establish individual swim goals, identify roadblocks, address challenges, and help swimmers meet swim skill benchmarks that create water safety, increase leisure and promote overall swim abilities </li>
<li>Use discretion, adapting the approach, as needed, to meet the unique needs of each swimmer</li>
<li>Provide ongoing, effective communication with the supervisor regarding all classes and programming</li>
<li>Recognize and respond according to protocols for emergencies</li>
<li>Teaches swimmers (children and adults) with special needs using prior experience and predesigned lessons. Sessions may be with individuals or groups. Lessons may require hands on work in the pool with young children.</li>

<li>Tracks skill development (record keeping).</li>
