Position Summary
The Engineering Manager reports to the Plant Leader and is responsible for managing, planning, directing, and coordinating the Manufacturing and Product Development engineering departments. This position plays a vital role as a member of the plant leadership team and is instrumental in leading continuous improvement efforts, process efficiency improvements, validating processes and lean manufacturing initiatives. Principle Responsibilities

<li>Serves as a member of the Management Team and contributes through functional expertise, counsel, and experience with meeting current and long-range business strategies and plans.  Acts as a leader/liaison between Manufacturing Engineering, Product Development, Global PMO, Quality, Operations and Customer Service to meet or exceed customer and business expectations. </li>
<li>Communicates and acts as liaison with other departments to facilitate engineering support to the facility and customers and prepare written/technical (can you clarify the computer?) reports concerning engineering. </li>
<li>Plans, conducts, and directs product development and manufacturing engineering projects to support the machining manufacturing processes which are difficult and complex in nature, necessitating the application of engineering knowledge and Lean Manufacturing skills. </li>
<li>Administers an engineering program of high technical competence and judgment, ensuring sound technical medical device engineering.  May originate and apply new and unique engineering methods and procedures – Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, Design Control, Risk Management, etc. </li>
<li>Responsible for product and process development, launch and support including contract review, process validations, prototype development, pre-production operations, pilot production lots, transfer to full production and on-going support. </li>
<li>Responsible for site change control system, including Engineering Chanage Order and Process Change Order processes supporting CI, problem solving, and customer requested change initiatives.</li>
<li>Responsible for new business quoting activities through cross-functional team collaboration, value proposition, and timeline development as well as coordinate legacy product pricing initiatives.</li>
<li>Support Capital Project budgeting activities and investment initiatives including vendor/machine selection and Business Case/ROI, justification development and presentation. </li>
<li>Performs administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the engineering operations, including provision for the selection and employee counseling and motivation, meeting organization goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating, and measuring the work performed within the engineering group. </li>
<li>Supervises, coordinates, trains, coaches, mentors, develops, and reviews the work of assigned staff. </li>
<li>Coordinates site Engineering CO-OP program for talent pipeline development (as applicable) </li>
<li>Administers company rules, regulations, policies, and ethics governing employment. </li>

Qualification Requirements
Credentials/Experience:

<li>B.S. Degree in an Engineering field and 10+ years of experience in high precision CNC manufacturing and/or product development engineering or 15+ years of experience in high precision CNC manufacturing and/or product development engineering</li>
<li>Experience in leading and managing people in a manufacturing environment </li>

Experience/Educational/Training Preferred:

<li>At least 5 years of experience in the Medical Device or Aerospace industry preferred </li>

The Role
As a Lead Platform Engineer, you will play a critical role in evolving and scaling our cloud-native Tetra data platform to handle 100× growth in data volume and user demand. You’ll partner with engineering, data, and AI teams to design scalable architectures, proactively anticipate and mitigate scaling challenges, and ensure our platform remains performant, reliable, and cost-efficient as it grows.
This is a highly impactful role for an engineer who’s passionate about distributed systems, understands the trade-offs of large-scale design, and thrives on turning ambitious scalability goals into concrete technical strategies.

What You will Do
<ul>
<li>Architect and evolve our cloud-native platform infrastructure to support high-throughput, low-latency data processing patterns, customer-facing features, and design platform to meet scalability requirements.</li>
<li>Design scalable, distributed systems powering complex capabilities such as authentication &amp; authorization, data lifecycle management, search infrastructure, operational intelligence, and real-time event processing.</li>
<li>Proactively analyze platform performance and scalability; identify potential constraints and define strategies that enable both continuous and step-function growth.</li>
<li>Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deliver infrastructure that supports new services, customer-facing applications, and high-volume data processing workloads.</li>
<li>Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code (e.g., CloudFormation, AWS CDK) to automate, standardize, and secure deployments to support online upgrades and on-demand infrastructure allocation.</li>
<li>Enhance observability and monitoring to ensure reliability, cost efficiency, and rapid incident response.</li>
</ul>
Champion best practices in distributed systems design, scalability, and performance optimization, and share architectural insights through design reviews and technical documentation. 
Requirements
<ul>
<li>10+ years of hands-on experience in software and infrastructure engineering, with a proven track record of designing, building, and scaling distributed, cloud-native systems in production environments.</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience as a technical leader or architect, making key decisions on system design, scalability, performance, and cost optimization.</li>
<li>Strong proficiency in API-first design, including REST, GraphQL, and OpenAPI specifications designing APIs that are scalable, secure, versioned, and extensible.</li>
<li>Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Python, with a focus on building highly performant backend services.</li>
<li>Expertise in AWS cloud services and architecture, including deep experience with core services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, IAM, S3) and advanced data and messaging tools such as SQS, Kinesis, Kafka, and EventBridge.</li>
<li>Expert knowledge of infrastructure-as-code frameworks such as CloudFormation and CDK, CI/CD pipelines, and strong opinions on production deployment strategy across dozens of platforms.</li>
<li>Solid understanding of observability best practices, including monitoring, alerting, and distributed tracing for SLI/SLO/SLA design.</li>
<li>Ability to articulate ideas clearly, present findings persuasively, and build rapport with clients and team members. </li>
<li>Strong collaboration skills and the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams.</li>
