Our Construction Design Group works on a variety of transportation, energy, development, and natural resources projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

<li>Completes geotechnical/structural engineering analyses and calculations.</li>
<li>Assists with preparation of deliverables such as memos and reports and provide quality assurance/control support. Ensures that deliverables are submitted to the project manager in a timely manner and are completed as estimated.</li>
<li>Assists with producing typical geo-structural designs such as temporary excavation support, retaining wall, soil nail wall, slurry wall, slope stability, shallow and deep foundation, construction dewatering, work trestle, temporary shoring, etc.</li>
<li>Assists project team members in making design decisions from detailed criteria provided by the senior engineer or project manager.</li>
<li>Assists with observation of field explorations and construction projects, ensuring that work performed is consistent with project plans and specifications as well as in accordance with safety guidelines.</li>
<li>Independently produces detailed, accurate field reports and submittals including cover letters, calculations, and construction drawings and designs with support of senior staff.</li>
<li>Assist with observation and recording of installation and testing of foundation and excavation support.</li>
<li>Assists with gathering appropriate field data and field samples for related projects. Coordinates samples for testing if necessary.</li>

Qualifications

<li>Bachelor's in Civil Engineering required; Master's in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering preferred.</li>
<li>Minimum 4 years of relevant experience is required.</li>
<li>At least one year of project management experience.</li>
<li>PE license required.</li>
<li>Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification.</li>
<li>Professional-level verbal and written communication skills are a must.</li>

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position, located in Southborough, MA and Redmond, WA is $87,200 - $122,900 annually. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of individual factors, including education and experience, as well as internal equity. GeoEngineers’ salary ranges are reviewed and updated each year and employees are eligible for pay increases based on individual performance. As part of our competitive total rewards package, employees in this role may also be eligible for our annual year-end bonus offering, subject to program eligibility requirements.

Description:
This Entry Level role is generally focused on gathering accurate information to create cost estimate proposals for large construction projects. Our company provides interior finish carpentry and millwork services, so experience in those areas is preferred. The ideal candidate would have experience in construction project management, be organized, motivated, and detail-oriented.
Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Review architectural drawings and contract documents to identify finish carpentry scope of work. Must have some familiarity with reviewing contract drawings and specifications. (Training will be provided for entry-level candidates).</li>
<li>Prepare material takeoffs using Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Excel for review with lead estimators.</li>
<li>Solicit vendors for pricing information and maintain database of cost information. Maintain strong relationships with vendors. Ability to communicate in a timely and professional manner is a must.</li>
<li>Prepare formal proposal documents in Microsoft Excel for submission to clients.</li>
<li>Document and organize all backup information/quotes for future reference.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Familiarity with reviewing contract drawings and specifications</li>
<li>Experience with the following computer programs (or similar): Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam Revu – (AutoCAD experience is a plus)</li>

About the Role:
As a Structural Engineer, you’ll perform essential analysis and design work on residential and commercial buildings. New England Lab is seeking a Project Estimator for our Woburn, MA. office. Providing a team approach with a focus on detail, accuracy, and meeting deadlines is essential for the success of every bid and our business as a whole. Our ideal candidate has commercial construction experience, the ability to think in 3D and remain detail oriented and focused. This full-time, salary position reports to the Estimating Manager and typical hours are 8am to 5pm M-F.
 
Role
The position of Project Estimator is responsible for providing a competitive on time bid, which meets the project scope and our clients intent. Document a complete clear scope with a detailed and accurate estimate of product, man hours and O&amp;P. Responsible for reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications for commercial construction, confirming project scope of work, writing RFIs, performing quantity take-offs, preparing estimate proposals and following up on bids as needed. Will provide project and job cost turn over packages. Assist and collaborate with sales and project managers to provide outstanding service. Responsible for maintaining cost controls via relationships with various vendors. Research and negotiating with potential new vendors will be necessary at times.
 
Duties &amp; Responsibilities

<li> Responsible for knowledge of product line, applications and industries </li>
<li> Analyze drawings and specifications to ensure that the entire scope of work is understood and has been addressed, accurately forecast the cost, size, and duration of projects</li>
<li> Conduct unit and assembly take-offs from project plans</li>
<li> Review architectural specifications and drawings and write timely RFIs</li>
<li> Document, organize and maintain project information </li>
<li> Manage bid process to ensure bid is on time</li>
<li> Clear understanding of award or road block</li>
<li> Provide timely and complete bid information to PMs for projects awarded</li>
<li> Quality control bids before being sent</li>

Skills &amp; Competencies

<li> 2+ years experience with commercial construction estimating (Division 6, 11 or 12 preferred)</li>
<li> 1+ years experience with cabinetry, lab or office furniture and overall construction experience</li>
<li> HS Diploma required, Associates or Bachelors Degree (Mathematics, Accounting, Engineering, Construction technology or related field) a plus</li>
<li> Division 10 specialties experience a plus</li>
<li> Ability to read construction documents with attention to detail and focus</li>
<li> Possess strong computer and mathematical skills and perform accurate analysis within deadlines</li>
<li> Dependable, driven and possess a strong work ethic</li>
