<li>Maintain a detailed daily log recording time and activities related to the projects, weather conditions, nature and location of work being performed, verbal and written instructions and interpretations given to the contractor(s), construction change authorizations, and specific observations. Record any occurrence or work that varies from contract documents and corrective actions.</li>
<li>Consider and evaluate contractor’s suggestions for modifications to the contract documents, and report such suggestions, with recommendations, to the city.</li>
<li>Coordinate the shutdown of utilities and/or coordinate necessary communication and information between all City departments and other governmental agencies. </li>
<li>Make surveys, studies and technical reports based upon preliminary surveys or existing engineering records; makes recommendations to supervisors.</li>
<li>Research variety of records, maps, plots, etc., maintained by Engineering Division to provide interpretations and guidance to the general public, contractors, and Engineers who need specific data.</li>
<li>Review applications for payment with contractor, and makes recommendation to city for payment.</li>
<li>Responsible for continually updating and/or upgrading documents relating to infrastructure.</li>
<li>Operate personal or assigned motor vehicle to travel throughout City in completing field work.</li>
<li>Ensure transfer of installed building systems information necessary for ongoing facility maintenance.</li>
<li>Coordinate project closeout documentation and ensures proper project closeout protocols are followed and closeout documents are archived for future use, which will require use of field GPS to track and formulate final As-Built Conditions</li>
<li>Manage project warranties for duration of warranty period.</li>

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Thorough knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in site development, building system installation, general facility construction, and the principles and practices of engineering.&nbsp; Considerable knowledge of hazards and safety requirements common to construction field, specifically public works construction.&nbsp; Ability to organize, coordinate and monitor the work of others.&nbsp; Ability to establish and maintain good customer, contractor and other department relationships.&nbsp; Strong verbal and written communication skills.&nbsp; Ability to prepare reports and maintain records.
