General Function
The Facilities Associate is responsible for the overall maintenance and cleanliness of the Attleboro YMCA’s 3 facilities (Downtown Branch, Pleasant St. Branch, and Norton Outdoor Center). This includes general maintenance and repair of the facilities, equipment, and grounds. The Facilities Associate also assists in the preparation of annual maintenance and facility improvement plans.
Essential Duties
- Performs necessary improvements, repairs and general maintenance of building and equipment
- Communicates with management team on all maintenance and custodial issues
- Assists the COO in coordinating the services of outside contractors for repairs or specialized services (i.e. electrical)
- Oversees the work of outside contractors (plumbers, electricians, etc.) as needed
- Responds promptly to work orders and facility concerns reported by staff and members
- Maintains updated electronic records related to completed work orders, preventative maintenance, and equipment purchases
- Assists with pick-up of equipment and clean-up of garbage as directed following special events
- Works closely with volunteers to complete facility projects
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Three or more years of experience in a related position or field
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, HVAC and other maintenance-related areas preferred
- Pool Operator Certification is preferred and experience working with pools is a plus
- General knowledge of standard computer programs including e-mail, Word, Excel and Facility Dude (maintenance reporting system)
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift a min. of 50 pounds
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time and in extreme weather conditions
- Position will require bending, leaning, kneeling, climbing, lifting and walking
- Ability to speak concisely and communicate effectively
