We are currently looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team! Assists the Controller in applying principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly and yearly financial statements such as Balance sheet, Income Statement,
- Create and post journal entries and reconcile balance sheet and bank accounts to ensure accuracy of general ledger accounts and financial data, including accruals, prepaids and adjusting entries.
- Maintain A/P and A/R (enter vendor invoices, customer invoices and payments, match invoices to PO and investigate and resolve any discrepancy)
- Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedule.
- Assist with Inventory count, Inventory adjustments and analyzing gross margins and costs.
- Analyze information and data by developing spreadsheet reports.
- Responsible for the accuracy of employees timecards, entering employee time off and will be involved with payroll processing.
- Assist in preparation and filing of Sales and Use tax returns across multiple States.
- Generate Weekly, monthly reports for management use
- Contributing to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections
- Adheres to all department and Organization policies and procedures, respects employee, customer and Organization confidentiality by releasing information to only those who are authorized and need to know the information.
- Develops and maintains effective channels of communication throughout the Organization and with internal and external customers as necessary.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

- Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Great planning and organizational skills. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills. Must maintain a professional appearance and manner.
- Experience within manufacturing industry and/or knowledge of cost accounting highly recommended.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- High attention to detail.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software (preferable Epicor, QuickBooks); Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
