Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Position: Middle School Special Education Teacher
Location: Amherst, MA
Contract Duration: Full-time for the 20252026 school year (August 21, 2025 June 11, 2026)
Hours: 7:30 AM 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Contracted Through: ProCare Therapy
Key Responsibilities:
- Instructional Support: Provide specialized instruction tailored to the needs of middle school students with disabilities, ensuring alignment with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaboration: Work closely with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary to meet educational goals.
- Family Engagement: Communicate effectively with families and caregivers to promote positive outcomes for students.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Active Special Education license in Massachusetts (DESE certification required).
- Experience: Prior experience working in a school setting is preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaborative relationships.
- Commitment: Dedication to student-centered instruction and inclusive education practices.
