Position Description:

The School of Arts and Sciences is seeking an innovative and highly motivated Biology faculty member to join the Department of Natural Sciences in Spring 2026. The candidate will have the opportunity to teach courses in their area of expertise. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in the biological sciences and experience teaching lectures and laboratories at the college level. Applicants with experience developing, teaching, and/or implementing laboratory courses with a CURE (course-based research experience) component are especially encouraged to apply. The candidate will join a dynamic and collegial department that values and supports high-quality undergraduate education. This position is an open-ended non-tenure track position.


Expected Responsibilities:

The candidate will teach a combination of lectures and labs during the Spring semester, coordinate the undergraduate introductory laboratories, attend faculty meetings, and other responsibilities as determined.


Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in biology or a related field is required, a Ph.D. is preferred.

  • Previous college-level teaching experience is highly preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Work Location

This is an on-campus position as employees are essential in order to provide a fully

on-campus, residential college experience for our students and the community.


Compensation:

The expected 9-month base salary range (paid over 12 months) for the Assistant Instructional Professor position is $78,000-$90,000; for the Associate Instructional Professor is $90,000-$110,000. The actual pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, candidate qualifications and prior experience, scope of responsibilities, internal equity, and market considerations.
