Salary: $65,000+ per year
Our client, a large wholesale distributor of landscape products, is looking for a Wholesale Nursery Manager to add to their team!
The manager will take the lead as the expert of Nursery/Plant material at the store
Pay: $65,000+ per year
Responsibilities of the Wholesale Nursery Manager:
- Assist the branch manager with the sales and operations planning, including demand forecasting and supply and demand plans
- Train and develop agronomic staff to be knowledgeable of the product line and customer needs
- Promote and encourage a strong safety culture throughout the organization by training/executing policies and leading by example
- Understand and execute inventory management, target customer mix and sales
- Partner with leadership to understand and implement new technologies and ways to improve business performance
- Create a positive environment for employees which encourages teamwork
Qualifications, Skills and Experience of the Wholesale Nursery Manager:
- 1-3 years of experience in the green industry and a deep understanding of nursery products and live plant material
- Experience with sales, operations planning and forecasting
- Understanding of accounting fundamentals (debits, credits, a/r, a/p and budgeting)
- Excellent customer service and management skills
- Be willing to learn and adapt to new technologies and ways of working
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
