Nurse Educator (RN – Obstetrics) - Travel Position

Location: Concord, MA

Job Type: Travel Contract

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 3x12s Days, Flexible

Pay: $3003/week

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Obstetrical Nurse Educator to support clinical staff development and ensure high standards of patient care. The Nurse Educator will collaborate with leadership to identify learning needs, design and implement educational programs, and serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff. This role plays a vital part in advancing professional practice and patient outcomes through evidence-based education and training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Obstetrical Nursing and staff to assess learning needs.

  • Plan and implement educational activities utilizing adult and pediatric learning principles.

  • Coordinate annual educational and competency review plans for the department.

  • Develop evaluation tools to measure program effectiveness and guide improvements.

  • Promote collaborative relationships among healthcare professionals across disciplines.

  • Participate in professional development initiatives to enhance nursing practice.

  • Coordinate patient, family, and community education as assigned.

  • Develop and oversee orientation programs for new staff based on individual needs.

  • Actively participate in hospital committees, including resuscitation, nurse practice council, trauma, stroke, and nursing council.

  • Partner with leadership to develop special projects addressing departmental needs.

  • Serve as Department Coordinator for unit-specific courses.

  • Demonstrate clinical expertise in obstetrical nursing and serve as a role model and consultant.

  • Participate in performance improvement and evidence-based policy development.

  • Assist in setting nursing practice standards and maintaining departmental policies.

  • Engage in professional associations, maintain certifications, and pursue continuing education.

  • Uphold and support patient rights in all educational and clinical activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field

  • Five or more years of clinical nursing experience, including at least three years in maternity/OB

  • Current Massachusetts RN license

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) & Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications

  • BLS & NRP Instructor certifications
