Operational Accounting Associate

The Accounting Associate is a cross-functional role that will work alongside both the Accounting & Accounts Payable functions. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounting Associate will use various software tools to verify, reconcile, and process employee expense reports, prepare vendor invoices, tenant allowance filings and other tasks which support accounting activities.

The Accounting Associate reports directly into the CFO.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be a TPS brand ambassador
  • Review coding and process employee expense reports from WellsOne & Certify
  • Assist with new vendor onboarding, FEIN check and verify banking information
  • Review and update vendor CO-OP and allowance workbooks
  • Assist with vendor releases for tenant improvement (TI) allowances
  • Prepare vendor invoices for Company reimbursement
  • Lead contact for Brinks for troubleshooting issues and opening tickets for stores
  • Assist the department with new store opening checklist requirements
  • Key role in extending exceptional service to our internal store personnel
  • Assist management with preparing year end 1099 reporting
  • Support the accounting team with monthly close process and year end audit
  • Complete other ad hoc projects and requests as needed

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Self-motivated and able to deliver on detailed tasks
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team
  • Strong communication skills amongst co-workers, vendors, and management
  • Attention to detail, deadline oriented, and reliable
  • Ability to analyze information and manage vendor expectations
  • Comfortable in a technologically heavy environment using multiple software platforms
  • Have experience working in an accounting environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience in retail and/or with Microsoft Great Plains, Certify and Vision 360 is a plus
  • Ability to work 3+ days/week at the Corporate Office in Acton, MA
  • Professional presentation in attire, demeanor, and appearance
