LEASING MANAGER

Sterling Organization is a vertically integrated private equity real estate firm whose national platform is focused on investing in LAST HOUR™ consumer fulfillment and distribution real estate assets across the risk spectrum in major markets within the United States. The firm operates on behalf of Sterling’s principals in partnership with the highest quality institutional investors. Sterling Organization, with offices across the nation, is headquartered in West Palm Beach, FL.

Sterling Organization is currently searching for a Leasing Manager to manage a portfolio of up to 8 retail assets comprising approximately 1.5 million square feet located throughout the Northeast of the United States. This will be a remote position and the candidate can be located in and will be responsible for leasing shopping centers in Philadelphia, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York and Massachusetts. This position will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Leasing.

Responsibilities

  • Identify leasing prospects via canvassing, cold calling, and building relationships with tenants and tenant brokers
  • Develop a leasing strategy for the vacant spaces
  • Travel to properties throughout the East Coast of the United States
  • Establish a relationship with National, Regional, and Local tenants for Sterling’s portfolio
  • Work with the marketing and leasing teams to promote centers on social media and prepare leasing fliers to send to prospective tenants and brokers
  • Work directly with the Senior Vice President of Leasing to negotiate letters of intent for long term, permanent, and short-term tenants
  • Show vacant spaces to prospective tenants
  • Interview prospective tenants and record information to ascertain needs and qualifications
  • Proactively handle tenant renewals to maintain each asset’s income stream
  • Review the portfolio for opportunities to upgrade tenancy, increase rent, and term and improve lease language/provisions to add long-term value to the assets
  • Prepare market competitive analysis of centers, lease budgets, and leasing activity reports for distribution to senior management and investors

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of leasing experience in retail real estate and a strong understanding of retailers’ site selection needs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Compensation

Salary based on experience. Benefits include medical, dental and 401(K).
