Scientist, Process Chemistry
Location: Cambridge, MA
Job Summary:
An ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in modern synthetic organic chemistry and analytical techniques
such as NMR, LCMS, UPLC/HPLC (Empower proficiency) and an understanding of early drug development
processes and experiments. Experience in small-molecule process development and scale up is highly desired,
however not required.
An ideal candidate would have a B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, or a related field with 3+ years of experience in
pharmaceutical research or laboratory setting or, Ph.D. with 0-3 years of experience.
Responsibilities:
Participate in the design, planning and execution of multi-step synthesis, process research and
development as a cross-functional team member.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Implement process enhancements, scientific approaches and technical improvements to deliver robust
chemical processes.
Document and report experimental results and findings.
Draft and review technical documents (development reports, patent applications, tech transfer documents
etc.)
Maintain an accurate, timely and compliant laboratory notebook.
Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of organic chemistry.
Experience with early phase route development and process optimization
Proficiency in using analytical instruments (HPLC/UPLC, NMR, LCMS) and software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
