League School for Autism is an award-winning, year-round program dedicated to the education of children on the autism spectrum. Our team approach to education creates a collaborative, supportive and open environment within our community. We are currently seeking a Special Events Coordinator for our school in Walpole. Starting salary range is $27 - $31 per hour.

The Special Events Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Marketing with coordinating special events activities for League School for Autism to advance its mission. The Special Events Coordinator coordinates fundraising events and other key events, from conceptualization to planning to realization; establishes relationships with vendors and volunteers; coordinates sponsor and VIP participation; and tracks expenses to align with budget and goals.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in marketing, communications, development, or related field.
  • Three to four years of related experience and/or training.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must pass rigorous background checks, including nationwide fingerprint screening.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  1. Coordinate logistics, negotiate pricing and inclusions, request estimates and contracts, and make all arrangements for special events.
  2. Procure Silent Auction, Raffle, Live Auction, and other fundraising items, as needed, for special events. Enlist the assistance of committee members, parents, staff, and community members in the procurement process and track inventory.
  3. Coordinate event aesthetics, such as decorations, timing/flow, lighting, and layout that contribute to the overall participant experience in coordination with the Director of Marketing.
  4. Assist with management of volunteers, event committees, and event vendors.
  5. Assist in the maintenance of contacts and records for marketing and fundraising efforts using event management platforms and centralized database system(s) in coordination with the Executive Assistant.
  6. Track event expenses to align with budget and goals.
  7. Assist with the development, review, and modifications for special event marketing, support materials, promotion, production, and follow-up.
  8. Assist in the production of event websites, event materials, name tags, and displays, as needed.
  9. Display the ability to prioritize and efficiently accomplish a realistic set of objectives and strategies, meet deadlines, and maintain accountability within all areas of responsibility.
  10. Complete additional tasks, as needed, that are assigned by the Director of Marketing.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite. Knowledge of fundraising (OneCause, Donor Perfect, QGiv) and design software (Canva) is highly preferred. Social media experience is beneficial, but optional.

Standard work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Wednesday dismissal is at 4:00 PM and Friday dismissal is at 3:00 PM. Administrative employees follow a standard year-round (2080 hours) schedule.
